Vessel and Facility Security Plans (VSPs/FSPs) have a lifespan of five years from approval to expiration (33 CFR 104.410(f)/105.410(f). Accompanying Vessel or Facility Security Assessment Reports must be updated when the new Plan is submitted (33 CFR 104.310(c)/105.310(c)). Many Marsec Corporation clients have Facility or Vessel Security Plans that were approved in 2004 and are therefore due to expire in 2009.

Bob J. Gobert, President

Bob J. Gobert is a retired U.S. Coast Guard (U.S.C.G.) Officer and the founder of MARSEC Corporation, a consulting firm specializing in maritime safety and security. Bob has over 26 years experience in maritime safety and security; serving over 21 years in the United States Coast Guard and the last five as President of MARSEC Corp. Customers typically include federal agencies, port authorities, waterfront facilities, vessels, private security organizations, and Vessel Security Officers.

Bob has served as President of MARSEC Corp. since retiring from the U.S.C.G. in 2003. He has strived to give his customers solutions “now” for their peace of mind tomorrow. Assessments, plans, training, and reports submitted by MARSEC Corp. are routinely complimented by industry and compliance enforcement agencies.

MARSEC Corp. is currently comprised of personnel who have prior work experience through the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army, petrochemical industry, and local enforcement agencies.
